Advancements In Mechanical Strength And Reliability Of Optical Fibres

This paper reviews recent advancements in the area of mechanical reliability of optical fibre, building upon previously published reviews in this area. Of particular significance is progress in the area of establishing reliability programs. This review considers efforts made to reduce early failures and to establish reliability programs with an emphasis on functional reliability.
