Absorption Spectrum Of Mn3+ And Redox Equilibria Of Iron And Manganese In Sodium Silicate Glass

The absorption characteristics of the manganic ion in a 30Na2O, 70SiO2 glass are investigated and the concentration of Mn2+:Mn3+ and Fe2+:Fe3+ equilibria in a sodium silicate glass containing equimolar concentrations of total manganese and iron are established optically and chemically.
