Abatement Of Glass Furnace Emissions: Techniques, Performance, Costs & Possible Combinations Of Abatement Techniques

The main objective of this report is to repesent an overview of techniques which have been applied and proven in the glass industry worldwide for the abatement of NOx, dust particulates, chlorides, fluorides, selenium, heavy metal and SOx emissions. For each technique cost indications, including investment costs and annual operational cost will be given if available. The applicability of each technique, depending on type of glass and type of glass furnace will be discussed. Limitations of the use of techniques will be given, as well as beneficial or disadvantageous side-effects such as extra energy consumption or second waste emissions.
