A total of 41 Prop 65 notices have been filed in California in July/August to date, alleging exposure to lead & in some cases cadmium, from both glassware & ceramicware. The ware in question was sold at retail & through printed & internet catalogues. There have now been around 130 Prop 65 notices filed since the Aug 31, 2004 settlement between a group of manufacturers, importers, retailers & the plaintiff concerning allegations of lead exposure. Some of the defendants have agreed to tentative settlements with the plaintiff that differ significantly from earlier settlements, but have not yet been approved by the court. The majority of the Proposition 65 allegations filed since 2004 remain to be either settled or litigated.
