15 additional Proposition 65 notices were filed in California on March 10, alleging exposure to lead from the outside surface of ceramic mugs and containers, stemware and other glassware. The companies named are primarily retailers, although a major tableware marketer was also named. As previously reported, around 70 Prop 65 notices have been filed since the August 31, 2004 settlement between a group of manufacturers, importers, retailers and the plaintiff concerning allegations of lead exposure and decorated glass and ceramicware. The plaintiff filing the new notices was also involved in the cases that settled on August 31. These new allegations, however, are not part of that settlement. (whole item)
