British Glass’ Company of the Year

Encric

Encirc have worked tremendously hard for many years to set the benchmark for our industry and are worthy winners of the 2020 Glass Focus Award for Company of the Year.

The Derrylin and Elton based business were shortlisted for five categories in this year’s awards for their work across multiple initiatives from sustainability to marketing and have also gained recognition for their work alongside Glass Futures on the upcoming biofuel trial at their Derrylin plant.

Allied Glass

Allied Glass has shown excellence across the year in terms of its own business performance while also representing and strengthening the glass sector as a whole.

Their investment in a new decoration line and office space has allowed them to continue to manufacture high-quality, innovative designs for a number of customers in the spirits sector.

Nippon Electric Glass Fiber UK

Nippon Electric  Glass  Fiber UK intrigued the judges with its first-ever entry in the awards. Electric Fiber, a Japanese-owned company which makes glass fibre used in wind turbines, wanted to engage more  employees  at its Wigan base in  improving  the ‘Near  Miss’  hazard reporting  process. It used the title Hiyari  Hatto, which is the Japanese  for  ‘Near  Miss’ to challenge all employees  to  submit  one  report a month  of  a  near miss, an unsafe act, or an unsafe condition.
