We’re looking for an experienced communications/PR officer to develop and implement campaigns on behalf of the UK container glass-manufacturing sector – which produces bottles and jars for a wide range of food, drink and cosmetic products, including some of the world’s best-known brands.

The post-holder will develop, coordinate and deliver communications to promote the benefits of and support the adoption/continued use of glass packaging. This will involve projects that work across multiple channels to reach stakeholder groups including brands, retailers, packaging designers, recyclers/re-processors and local authorities.

Specific tasks will include:

  • keeping up to date with latest industry news and trends including the FMCG and packaging sectors to identify potential PR and promotional opportunities

  • identify and manage networking, speaking and sponsorship opportunities  

  • organise events including conferences, exhibitions and workshops

  • build relationships with colleagues and key partners to implement an agreed stakeholder contacts programme

  • write and edit case studies, presentations, articles and reports

  • create and maintain website content ensuring that it is up to date, engaging, relevant and delivers expected results

  • develop and co-ordinate social media strategy and activity, creating content to drive stakeholder engagement  

  • research, write and distribute press releases to targeted media and collate and analyse media coverage

  • identify and develop effective links with key influencers/decision makers and build and maintain a contacts database including press, supply chain and other relevant stakeholders

  • measure and report on the impact of communications campaigns including web analytics, social media activity and events

  • liaise with and answer enquiries from media, individuals and other organisations on other container glass related matters.

 

We’re looking for someone with at least three years’ communications, PR or marketing experience, ideally backed up by a relevant degree-level qualification. You’ll need to have a proven ability to formulate audience-appropriate, relevant messaging as well as experience of running social media campaigns and organising events.

Salary: Circa £24,000 depending on experience
