Encirc constructing world’s largest glass furnace

British Glass member Encirc are currently building the largest container glass furnace in the world at their site in Cheshire.

The furnace will be capable of processing 900 tonnes per day substantially increasing the business’ manufacturing capability in the UK.

Also included in the development will be an extension to the existing facility in Elton and the world’s first Industry 4.0 production line thanks to a 12-section end to end quad gob line from Bucher Emhart.

Managing Director of Encirc Adrian Curry said:

Encirc, part of the Vidrala group, are a container glass manufacturer with factories located in Elton, Cheshire and Derrylin, Co. Fermanagh.
