British Glass welcomes the release of the government’s Resources and Waste strategy earlier today (December 18).
The strategy, which is the first significant update in over a decade, aims to change England’s waste system to hold manufacturers who make environmentally damaging waste to account.
Commenting on the Strategy, British Glass CEO Dave Dalton said:
“We are in the process of reviewing and analysing the strategy and accompanying evidence base as published, and we look forward to providing our critique of the methodology and proposed implementation in due course.
“British Glass has, and will continue to, present the experience, views and concerns of our membership in the implementation of any proposed Strategy and the subsequent consultation.
“We will also be working with our members and other key stakeholders to formulate a detailed response based on our own knowledge, research and findings, suggesting appropriate changes to the strategy over the coming weeks.”
