British Glass proud to back BeerAlive! bottle bar

British Glass is pleased to announce it will be sponsoring the bottle bar at SIBA’s BeerAlive! – part of BeerX  – taking place in Sheffield from 17-19 March 2017.

BeerX is SIBA's national event for independent craft brewers, breweries, representatives of the on and off-trade and anyone that enjoys drinking wonderful beer. BeerAlive! showcases the very best beers British independent brewers have to offer – visitors can enjoy SIBA’s 64 Gold cask award winners as well as the huge selection of bottled beers, all under one roof.

As the body representing the UK glass bottle manufacturing industry, British Glass knows how packaging in glass can enhance the taste, positioning and green credentials of a beer, including that:

  • UK bottle manufacturers can offer brands at every level more ways than ever to express their beer’s personality – from short-run bespoke embossing to screen printing, powder-coated colours, wax seals and high-definition sculpted finishes
  • glass is the most chemically inert packaging material and won’t interact with its contents: no leeching, no tainting and no need for lining layers
  • glass bottles provide product protection and long shelf life
  • glass bottles can be re-melted an infinite number of times without losing quality – something no other packaging material can offer, which makes it the perfect material to close the packaging recycling loop.

Rebecca Cocking, British Glass’ Head of Container Affairs said:

“We’re really excited to be sponsoring the BeerEx2017 bottle bar. Glass is the perfect partner for craft beer – delivering the flavour the brewer intended while giving great shelf-appeal. What’s more – UK manufactured beer bottles can be made from as much as 90% recycled content and are themselves 100% recyclable – so they’re kind to the environment too.”
