VacanciesSenior Analytical TechnologistSalary range: £22,500 – £27,500 depending on experience Permanent position, 37.5 hrs/week Closing date: 12.00 noon 15th March 2010 Glass Technology Services ( GTS) is the technical arm of British Glass the Glass Industry trade association. GTS carries out a wide variety of investigative, analytical, consultancy and project work for anyone with an interest in glass. As such we carry out work for the whole supply chain; from the raw materials suppliers and glass manufacturers/recyclers, through to installers and architects and major retailers. Our work covers container glass including beers, wines and spirits, flat glass including automotive and architectural and domestic glass such as tableware. We are also involved in more specialist applications of glass, such as glass coatings and innovative technologies We are currently seeking a motivated and practical individual to join our materials analysis team. Roles include:ensuring delivery of routine XRF results, including supervision of staff involved, being involved in the day to day work, and being involved in development of new business and new methods. You will ideally be degree qualified in a science subject, with a significant chemistry component, with relevant knowledge/experience, but other equivalent experience/ qualifications will also be considered. We’re looking for someone with knowledge and experience that can complement our current team. You should also be IT Literate, have good communication skills and have good people/ management skills.
